About

An engineering practice built around the report, not the camera

Apex Thermal Intelligence is a Colorado infrared inspection practice built on one idea: the report is the product. Every finding is located, compared with its reference, classified and ranked, and written so the person who has to act on it can do so without a phone call.

Where this comes from

The practice was founded by an engineer with three careers behind it: civil engineering, where a drawing is only useful if someone can build from it; software and data engineering, where a number is only useful if it is correct and traceable; and running a business, where the only thing that matters in the end is whether the client got what they were promised, on the day they were promised it.

Infrared thermography sits exactly where those three meet. A thermal survey produces evidence about real equipment and real buildings. That evidence has to be captured under the right conditions, compared the right way, and delivered in a form the maintenance planner, the roofer, the engineer or the insurer can use directly. The discipline of the first two careers goes into the capture and the analysis. The third decides how the work is scoped, scheduled and followed up.

So the commitments here are simple. Every finding is documented with a thermal and a daylight image and the comparison that makes it a finding. Every report says what conditions it was produced under and what should confirm each exception. Every quote is scoped to the site and returned within one business day, and if the weather or the load schedule moves the date, you hear it from us first.

What you can hold us to

Four things, stated plainly so they can be checked.

01 · DELIVERABLE

A report someone can act on

Every exception located, imaged thermally and in daylight, compared with its reference, classified and ranked by consequence, with a recommended action and the test that should confirm it. Delivered as a PDF and as structured data for your maintenance system.

02 · QUALITY

The right conditions, or a reschedule

Load, weather, time of day and season decide whether a thermal image means anything. If the conditions are not right on the day, the survey moves rather than producing data you would have to caveat, at no charge.

03 · SERVICE

One point of contact, one business day

A scoped quote within one business day, travel priced in up front, access and safety arrangements confirmed in writing before the date, and the same person on the phone from the first call to the re-inspection.

04 · HONESTY

Limits stated, not hidden

Thermography finds symptoms, not causes, and some things cannot be seen. The report says what was not inspected and why, and if a survey is not the right tool for your question, the quote says so.

Built for Colorado conditions

Front Range operations are their own discipline. Altitude, afternoon weather and hail season shape how every survey here is planned.

5,500 – 8,000 FT MSL

Altitude-native operations

Sites across the Front Range sit between roughly 5,500 and 8,000 feet above sea level. Density altitude changes endurance, margins and how an aerial survey has to be planned. That is the normal operating environment here, not an edge case.

WEATHER WINDOWS

Planning around the afternoon

Front Range convection builds fast and predictably. Surveys are planned around morning stability, wind, and, for solar, the irradiance window that makes the data valid. Local scheduling means a pushed window costs you a day, not a mobilisation.

HAIL SEASON

Post-event capacity arranged in advance

Colorado takes more damaging hail than almost anywhere in the country. Priority rescan scheduling is written into program agreements precisely because the week after a storm is the worst possible time to go looking for capacity.

How the work is done

Described in terms of what the output can support. Equipment is selected per engagement and will change over time; the standard the report has to meet will not.

Qualitative thermography, done properly

Every finding is an exception: a component that looks different from its neighbours under the same load, documented with a thermal and a daylight image and the comparison that makes it a finding. Nothing is called "hot" without saying hot compared with what.

Handheld inside, aerial above

Electrical rooms, mechanical plant and building interiors on foot; roofs, facades, arrays, substations and overhead lines from the air under Part 107. Capture positions and conditions are recorded so this year’s images can be compared with the same asset next year.

Structured deliverables

Findings are data before they are a document: classified, located, ranked, and exportable into your maintenance system rather than retyped out of a PDF.

Repeatable method

Conditions, routes and analysis method are recorded and reproduced, so results are comparable across surveys and defensible to a third party.

On equipment: engagements are scoped by the result the report has to support, not by a hardware list. Equipment appropriate to the survey is selected for each job, and the conditions behind every finding are stated in the report where they belong.
